Doctoral thesis — the first significant study of Long March: A Walking Visual Display (2002), based on four years of archival research and nearly thirty interviews. It argues that Long March reinvented curating for the Chinese context and proposes cedong 策动 — to devise, mobilise, instigate — as a way of understanding such projects. (PDF: abstract and contents.)
