Curatorial-Cedong 策展-策动

For me, curating is less about making exhibitions than about making things happen: fermenting ideas, instigating conversations, hosting a party. I call this cedong 策动 – instigation. As an editor, I also see the editorial as curatorial, and the curatorial as editorial: both are ways of inviting, arranging and caring for other people’s thinking, and of setting up the conditions in which something unexpected can take place. So the projects below include exhibitions, but also an email project, a travelling gathering, an online forum and a few parties.

对我来说，策展与其说是做展览，不如说是让事情发生：发酵想法，策动对话，办一场派对。作为编辑，我也把编辑看作策展，把策展看作编辑——两者都是邀请、编排、照料他人的思考，为意料之外的事情创造条件。
