“Curatorial Education” and Today’s Work“策展教育”和今天的工作
A lecture at ICAST, China Academy of Art, hosted by Lu Jie: how ‘curating’ emerged in 1990s London, what the curating courses at Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art were set up to address, and how that history connects to China’s exhibition experiments around 2000 and to curatorial education today.

How did ‘curating’ emerge in London in the 1990s? What different needs were the curatorial departments of Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art created to address? What was the state of China’s curatorial experiments at the turn of the millennium? What kind of connection has there been between the two? What does this have to do with our current situation, especially the curatorial courses we are currently in? Nie Xiaoyi’s doctoral research for ‘Long March: A Walking Visual Display’ (2002) examined the relationship between art ecology and practice in different regions. In this lecture we hope to apply elements of the past to a discussion and exchange of our respective work and the problems we face today.

“策展”在1990年代的伦敦是如何兴起的？Goldsmiths和Royal College of Art的策展系在创立时是为了应对什么不同的需求？千年之交时中国的展览实验是何种的状态？二者之间有过什么样的关联？这些和我们当下的处境，特别是此时此刻身在的策展教育课程，有什么关系？聂小依对《长征：一个行走中的视觉展示》（2002）的博士研究涉及了个案所处的不同地域的艺术生态和实践之间的关联，在这次分享中希望可以就着一段往事谈论和交流我们今天各自的工作和面对的问题。
